Lofts at Hayden Ferry project moves toward launch The estimated $50 million luxury apartment project along Tempe Town Lake whose fate had been pending city approval is almost a done deal. The Tempe City Council approved blueprints for The Lofts at Hayden Ferry late last month. That approval paves the way for San Diego-based developer OliverMcMillan to move forward with the purchase of the 3.7-acre site just east of the Hayden Ferry Lakeside project near Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue, Michael Lieb of Michael A. AMF Bowling Worldwide files for bankruptcy protection AMF Bowling Worldwide Inc., which operates 270 bowling alleys nationwide including a dozen in Arizona, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday. “As of today, we are not planing to close any AMF centers under the current lease period,” said Merrell Wreden, vice president of marketing. Tucson district plans to close up to 10 schools The governing board at the largest school district in Tucson has adopted guidelines that will direct administrators on how to choose as many as 10 schools to close as a cost-cutting measure. KVOA-TV reported Tuesday’s decision by the Tucson Unified School District board came as parents attended the meeting dressed in their kids’ school colors. They wanted to let board members know they didn’t want their neighborhood schools closed. View article…

Aris Integration moving to Tucson, will hire 600 Aris Integration LLC has picked Tucson to set up its corporate headquarters and will hire 600 people for a manufacturing center by 2017.
