Discount grocer WinCo advances plans for 2 Gilbert stores Idaho-based discount grocery chain WinCo Foods is moving forward with plans to open two stores in Gilbert, pending approval from the town’s Design Review Board. The employee-owned company is eying one location near Arizona Avenue and Baseline Road and another near Val Vista Drive and Pecos Road, planners say. With new stores in Phoenix, Glendale and Mesa,WinCo is looking to establish a solid presence in a crowded Arizona grocery market. The proposed shopping center at Arizona Avenue and Baseline Road includes a 95,000-square-foot grocery store and three “pad” sites ranging from 6,000 to 9,000 square feet, according to plans submitted to the town. TLK Group to open Phoenix call center, hire 250 Richmond, Va.-based TLK Group LLC has expanded into Phoenix with plans to hire 250 people for its call center that supports a variety of West Coast clients. The company, which provides a range of call center services, signed an 84-month, $1.43 million lease for 17,000 square feet at Pinnacle Peak Business Center, 1125 W. Pinnacle Peak Road in Phoenix.
