Market Trend: Phoenix’s Office Vacancy Increases to 20.8% The Phoenix Office market ended the first quarter 2012 with a vacancy rate of 20.8%. The vacancy rate was up over the previous quarter, with net absorption totaling positive 497,777 square feet in the first quarter. Vacant sublease space increased in the quarter, ending the quarter at 1,174,811 square feet. The largest lease signings occurring in 2012 include the 80,158-square-foot lease signed by Rancho Solano Private School at 9180 E Via de Ventura in the Scottsdale market. View article…

Phoenix office vacancy rate tops 28 percent More than 28 percent of the commercial office space in the Phoenix area is vacant. A first quarter commercial real estate report by Cassidy Turley BRE Commercial shows the Valley’s office vacancy rate at 28.2 percent. The same Phoenix office vacancy rate was 27.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2011. View article…

Surprise Stadium sees uptick in spring-training attendance Surprise slid into another winning spring-training season this year, with the city’s two baseball teams upping their combined attendance to 180,681 fans. The Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals saw their per-game average attendance increase by 8.1 and 4.6 percent, respectively. Surprise Stadium hosts both teams for the month-long training season.
